About the project
_The project has commissioned three renowned local artists, Man Fung-yi, Leung Chi-wo and Justin Wong Chiu-tat, to design and install works of art in three selected government buildings – the Tsuen Wan Government Offices in the New Territories, the Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices in Kowloon and Revenue Tower in Wanchai on Hong Kong Island. The project also aims to be a seedbed for future art administrators and creators of public art, and it has invited tertiary students from various university departments with an interest in art to join an eight-month Mentorship Programme.

About the artist
_The word “intimacy” comes from the Latin word “interiority”, which refers to inner feelings of trust and harmony. These feelings are not just built between lovers or family members. Using it as the significant theme of our work of art, I invite senior citizens from Tsuen Wan to take part in the project, in which their memories related to a pair of shoes will form the starting point.
Senior citizens from Tsuen Wan are living histories. Each one of them bears a unique combination of local history, family saga and autobiography. However, these valuable assets can easily be buried in a fast-paced society like Hong Kong. I want to immortalise their treasured memories in our work of art.
